Coral Reefs: Under Threat & Why We Need Them. {Video}

More than 60 percent of the world’s reefs are currently threatened by local human activities.

By 2030, 90 percent of coral reefs will be threatened.

Coral reefs occupy less than one percent of the Earth’s marine environment, but are home to more than a quarter of all known marine fish species.

To learn more about coral reefs, why we need them and how we can help, watch this short film with ocean advocate Céline Cousteau and animated by cartoonist Jim Toomey (creator of Sherman’s Lagoon).

Please help the World Resources Institute protect coral reefs.
